Faith

I am blessed. To be living on three full meals every single day.

I am blessed. To be sleeping for six to seven hours even in the midst of the tropical sun under protective roofing and sturdy walls.

I am blessed. To be with a very supportive family. Including my two lovely dogs.

I am blessed. Simply because I am breathing right now.

Weeks ago, eastern and central Visayas were overwhelmed with probably the worst typhoon recorded in history, typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda in Philippine atmospheric organization). She carried out strong 250+ kph winds and storm surge as high as two-story buildings. Footages shown all over the web how winds would snap coconut trees and peel off roofing of just about any structures in its path.

Soon enough, the nightmare showed its real face.

Dead bodies along the way, flattened houses, uprooted trees. Devastation.

This is something unheard of even with this country facing 20 to 22 typhoon on average per year.

My heart is still bleeding. I badly want to help in more ways than one. I still don’t feel fulfilled with what I have achieved in the past weeks.

But for now I must pray and continue to strive.

The Long and Winding Joke: Tapulao Crunch

Three years in the making. Several invitations. Finally, it’s about to conquer me. I am about to surrender to its beauty, mystery, magnificence and harsh conditions.

Will I succumb to defeat? Will I give in to pressure? Will I lose this battle against myself? Will my knees tremble like in the name of love?

This is the outdoors Julius. Leave love for the meantime. XD

Da Push to Mt.Apo

We woke up at the cool situation we were in. It’s just like the day I attempted Visayas’ highest peak, Mt.Kanlaon with Joseph, Edwin and Johnny.

“It’s only 4:30am,” Alvin muttered.

As dawn broke, the Philippine national anthem played in their community plaza.

Their plaza is just infront of their house of worship which is adorned by flags of different countries. It’s very much like United Nations. Well, that’s what they are trying to convey here. Every nation should be united. No divisions should exist between humans of different race and color. For we are one with the Lord.

Dear China

Dear China,

We all know you preserved your great culture. Its great and we love to acknowledge your presence in Filipino lives since the early times.

You have such massive landmass with the Great Wall erected. You span well over the length of this Earth and you can fill it up with a billion people, that’s incredible! And still have room for more.

Your economy is magnificent. I see your citizen so industrious.

But I wish you stay within your limits. Please refrain from using any force in trying to claim what’s from your neighbours. Lets settle this matter legally.

This is the Philippines and we’re the land of great warriors. We’re part of the great Malay race. We ‘re not afraid to mix it up with any invaders. We’re lovers of freedom and we respect everyone in this home called Earth.
